Renters insurance is cheap and very valuable

If you rent an apartment, condo, or other rental unit, you need cheap renters insurance to protect yourself from such hazards as fire, smoke, theft and flooding. Also, with liability coverage through your renters insurance policy, you're protected in the event a guest happens to get hurt in your apartment and tries to sue you!

You can also protect your college bound student's belongings by getting them a cheap renters insurance policy. It can really come in handy with the wild lifestyle some college kids have.

Remember, if you rent an apartment none of your stuff will be covered by insurance unless you have a renters policy. And even though damages to the building will be insured by your landlord, your own personal property isn't. Get renters insurance!

I'm confused about renters insurance. Do I need it?

If you rent an apartment or home, you need renters insurance. While the landlord's insurance policy covers damage to structures like apartment buildings and condos, renters insurance protects your personal possessions inside of the building. The landlord won't compensate you for your stuff.

Also, if someone gets injured on the property, renters insurance releases them from financial strain and liability by paying medical bills and court costs. You never know when something might happen. It's so cheap to get renters insurance better safe than sorry!

What is the cheapest renter's insurance to get?

Really if you want to save money with renters insurance you can do two thing. One is to get cash value coverage. This is where the coverage pays for the value of your property at the time of it's loss. So if your five year old computer was stolen you would get compensated for it's current lower value not for the cost of a new computer. It's much cheaper to get this kind of renters insurance.

Another thing yopu can do is only get coverage for your most important items. The lower the coverage value, the better rate you will likely get.
